November could begin with an unusually warm spell across mainland Portugal, with temperatures in Lisbon potentially reaching 27°C on Monday, 2 November 2026. However, the mild conditions may give way to a change in the weather later in the week, with rain becoming a possibility from Thursday.
According to forecasts reported by Meteored, the first full week of November is expected to begin with largely dry weather and pleasantly warm afternoons. Temperatures could approach 25°C in Santarém, Évora and Beja, while several cities in northern Portugal may see highs above 20°C.
Temperatures could rise 7°C above seasonal averages
In some parts of the country, daytime temperatures could be 5°C to 7°C higher than usual for early November, bringing a surprisingly warm start to the month.
The contrast between daytime and overnight conditions will nevertheless remain noticeable. Mornings are expected to be cooler, particularly in inland northern Portugal, where temperatures typically fall more sharply after sunset.
The warm spell may also prove short-lived. Weather models suggest that conditions could begin changing from Thursday, 5 November, although the timing and extent of any deterioration remain uncertain.
Rain could return from Thursday
The first signs of rainfall are currently forecast mainly for southern Portugal, but there is still considerable uncertainty about where and how much rain might fall. Despite the possibility of showers, Meteored’s weekly outlook suggests that overall rainfall could remain below average across northern and central Portugal.
Forecasters are also monitoring a possible low-pressure system developing west of the Iberian Peninsula around Saturday, 7 November. Its potential impact on Portugal has yet to become clear, although a drop in temperatures is possible towards the end of the week.
For residents and visitors, the outlook points to a warm and mostly dry start to November, followed by more unsettled conditions that will need to be monitored as updated forecasts become available.
